Miles Teller Was 'Totally Fine Being Alone' Before Meeting Wife Keleigh Sperry (Exclusive)

Miles Telleris OK with being a lone wolf!

The actor, 37, tells PEOPLE in an interview about his upcoming Apple Original Films thrillerThe Gorgethat he was “totally fine being alone” before he met his wifeKeleigh Sperry, 32, whom he wed in 2019.

When asked about his character Levi, who tends to keep to himself given his job as a highly-trained operative, he says he was able to relate to Levi’s introverted nature.

“I told my wife before I met her, I was like, ‘I was totally fine being alone,’ " Teller says. “That’s why I never really was in a long relationship. I enjoy myself.”

Teller continues of Sperry, “We’re just together all the time and it’s the most beautiful relationship I’ve ever had in my life.”

It was love at first sight when Teller and Sperrymet at a Grammys afterpartyfor the Black Keys in 2013. The couple dated for about four years before Teller popped the question while on a safari in South Africa. They tied the knot during aprivate Maui ceremonyin September 2019.

The couple recently cozied up at the 2025 Super Bowl on Feb. 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, which saw the Philadelphia Eagles in atriumphant winagainst the Kansas City Chiefs.

PEOPLEpreviously reportedthat the movie star would be cheering on the Eagles at the big game despite his track record. “Thankfully, when I was at the Chiefs' last Super Bowl, they weren’t playing the Eagles,” he told PEOPLE. “But this year, I’m going to be in a sea of green.”

The couplesupported the ChiefsinTaylor Swift’s Super Bowl suite in 2024 as the mega popstar, also Chief’s tight endTravis Kelce’s girlfriend, is one of Sperry’s close friends. However, theTop Gun: Maverick actorsaid that, this time around, Sperry would be rooting for the Eagles.

“She might be a Southern California girl, but you marry into Philadelphia sports and that is it,” he teased.

The couple tragically lost their home inJanuary’s Los Angeles wildfiresand opened up about the horrific loss in an interview withE! Newspublished earlier this month. Teller — a notedGrateful Deadfan — revealed that some people haveoffered to send him signature tie-dye merchandise, among other acts of kindness since the devastation.

“Many people have reached out, just either letting us know that they’re there emotionally or people are offering us their place,” the actor said. “I’m a Deadhead, and so I’ve had a lot of people reach out to [Sperry] like, ‘I want to send Miles a Grateful Dead shirt.’ "

“Little stuff just means a lot, so it’s been very heartwarming,” he added.

The two had only purchased their home together in 2023, according to thePalisades News.

Now, Teller has shifted gears to promote his upcoming flickThe Gorge, which he stars in alongsideAnya-Taylor Joy. The movie follows two operatives appointed to posts in guard towers on opposite sides of a vast and mysterious gorge. When a threat reveals itself, they must protect the world and themselves from danger.
