Miley Cyrus Serves 'Jessica Rabbit' Hair Inspo Before Debuting Baby Bangs All in One Night for Oscars 2025 (Exclusive)

Miley Cyrusbrought the glam forOscars 2025.

The Grammy winner, 32, was on hand on March 2 to present an award and she walked the red carpet in a custom glittering black Alexander McQueen halter gown and lace gloves. She also bleached her eyebrows for extra dramatic effect at the awards show.

Recine tells PEOPLE that he and the star “really collaborate” on a look — and that means “from head to toe.”

“She really trusts me and it helps in being able to enhance her natural beauty while also adding in the sexy, glam twist,” he says.

The hairstylist notes that he wanted to use her hair to highlight the dress, since it was a “unique” choice in that it was dark and moody rather than metallic or covered in sequins and beads.

To do that, he used his favorite Nexxus products, includingNexxus Volume Medium Hold Moussewhile Cyrus' hair was wet. He then goes in with a technique that he calls a “convertible blow-dry.” Using a blow-dryer, he dries the star’s hair with no brushes or combs and lets the air dry her hair as if she was driving down the road in a convertible with the top down.

He then created a deep part in her hair with the mousse, sectioned out pieces, sprayed the sections withXXL Volume Medium Hold Hairsprayand curled each section with a medium-barrel curling iron to create a marcel curl. The curls were refined with a round brush before Cyrus flipped her hair a little to give them body. A spritz of hairspray held everything in place andRepair & Nourish Ultra Lightweight Hair Oilprovided shine.

Recine, who has worked with Cyrus for years, calls the star a “fashion-forward, edgy and fashion-educated woman,” which makes their working relationship easy. It’s why they’ve been able to dream up such fun hairstyles for so many events. (2024 Grammys, anyone?)

“She trusts me and I trust her,” he gushes about the star. “We always want to create fashion-forward looks that make her feel confident, and she allows me to really go for it.”
