Millie Bobby Brown Is Leading a Pastoral Life in Georgia but She Is Definitely Not a 'Trad Wife'

InVanity Fair’s cover story for the March 2025 issue, the actress provided a glimpse into her rural day-to-day life. She and her new husband, Jake Bongiovi, live on a Georgia farm, where she cares for a number of sheep, goats, cows and donkeys, along with her tuxedo cat and therapy dog Winnie.

TheVanity Fairfeature compares Brown’s new rural life with the popular “trad wife” trend, often seen as a retreat to simplicity. But Brown says that’s the opposite of her reality.

“I’m not doing it for the aesthetic. I’m doing it because I love it,” she told the outlet"There are maybe some trad wives out there doing it because it seems wholesome, but it is not."

She added, “If you’re not picking up horse s— or washing a cow with your bare hands, then that life is not made for you. At all.”

The actress has a great passion for animals, which is a driving force behind the dynamic on her farm. In a barn on the estate, Brown takes in dogs rescued from kill shelters and works to get them adopted through her organization, Joey’s Friends.

To further its mission, she’s also taking online classes in human services and veterinary studies at Purdue University and preparing for an externship, which will involve observing surgeries, she said.

“I’m able to treat wounds, take their pulse, moderate blood pressure, things like that. I do all their medical records myself,” Brown said, adding, “Adoption campaigns are wonderful temporarily, but you really have to get in there and do the work to make a difference.”

Brown wed Bongiovi, a model and the son of rocker Jon Bon Jovi, in May 2024. The pair — who sparked romance rumors in June 2021 when Bongiovi shared a selfie with the actress — first connected through Instagram. They “were friends for a bit” before they started dating, the actress toldWiredin 2022.

They stepped out holding hands in New York City later that month and made several red carpet appearances together, including at the2022 BAFTA Film Awardsand theseason 4 premiere ofStranger Things.
