The candlelight vigil was held the night of Saturday, Jan. 11, in Henderson, according to theLas Vegas Review-JournalandNBC affiliate KSNV.
The citypreviously saidJenna, a senior at Foothill High School, was found dead on Sunday, Jan. 5, nearly one week after she was reported missing on Monday, Dec. 30.
Jenna’s body was found in the desert area 100 yards from where the vigil was held, according to the paper.
Police said Jenna had gotten into an argument with her family about her relationship with her boyfriend and left her home, according to theReview-Journal.

Jennifer Swanson, Jenna’s mother, asked the dozens of attendees at the vigil to continue praying for her family in the wake of the tragedy, KSNV reported.
“I don’t think we will ever recover as our home is broken without her,” Swanson said, per the station. “She was on her way to success with her career but unfortunately she had deeper thoughts that I never knew.”

Swanson told the crowd her late daughter “was on her way to success."
“But unfortunately, there were things — deeper thoughts she had — that I never knew about,” Swanson said.
“You never know how much a child is hurting,” she shared, adding, “I don’t think we could ever recover because our home is broken without her.”
Hina Hin, Jenna’s father, remembered Jenna as “a loving soul who simply wanted to be loved” in a message shared on aGoFundMe campaignstarted to support Jenna’s family members following the tragedy.
“She had the potential to live a beautiful, long and happy life,” Hina wrote. “She loved animals, especially her dogs. Jenna was truly a wonderful person, both in heart and in spirit. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will forever live on in our hearts.”
An investigation into Jenna’s death is ongoing.
