Cassey Blyand her husband first started co-sleeping when their oldest child, now 6, was a newborn. Since then, the couple has welcomed two more children, ages 4 and 3, and they have continued their tradition of all sleeping in one bed.
“My kids love sleeping with us at night,” Bly, a 29-year-old stay-at-home mom, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “They have their own bedrooms and beds as well, in case they decide to sleep there.”
“The family bed, I feel, makes life a lot easier with small kids, especially since we had our kids so close in age,” Bly adds. “The bedtime routine is smoother, and we find we all get a great night’s sleep.”
Recently, the family’s sleeping tradition has captivated the Internet after Bly started posting videos showcasing the massive bed the whole family shares each night. Hermost recent video, in which she resets the family bed, went viral, amassing more than 1.1 million views.
“This is absolutely bizarro to me,” one user wrote. “I need personal space and alone time, so my children slept in their own rooms. It led to such a calm lifestyle for all of us. Appreciate together time and alone time.”
