A mother is suing Mattel for accidentally listing aporn site link onWickeddoll boxes.
On Nov. 10, consumers noticed that the newWickedmovie-inspired dolls had an unfortunate detail included on the back of the box. Instead of linking to WickedMovie.com, the web address led to an adult site.
Now, a South Carolina mother is suing Mattel — the company responsible for the dolls — over “emotional distress,“new court documents show. She filed a proposed class-action lawsuit in federal court in Los Angeles on Dec. 3.
The lawsuit alleges Mattel was negligent, sold products unfit for sale and violated California consumer-protection laws.
“Plaintiff seeks to recover damages because the Products are adulterated, worthless, and unfit for its intended and advertised age-appropriate audience,” the lawsuit stated.
