The victim, 43-year-old Kristin Carrier, was found dead with multiple gunshot and stab wounds on Oct. 10, in the suspect’s Jacksonville, Fla., home, the localsheriff’s officesaid this week.

The woman reportedly told police she went to her son’s home on Oct. 9 to be with him during the storm, per News 4 Jax.

The body was found in the master bedroom of the house, the affidavit stated, per News 4 Jax and First Coast News.

The woman then called her daughter, Hendrix’s sister, to pick her up, and the two confronted him upon his return. He became “animated,” the affidavit said, per News 4 Jax.

The women then left and notified authorities.

Detectives at the scene found “various blood patterns on the walls and floor,” First Coast News reported, citing the affidavit.

Investigators say they recovered a bat and knife from the scene, per News 4 Jax. It’s not immediately clear when authorities believe Carrier died.

He is being held on $75,003 bond.
