A mother is demanding she stay in her daughter’s wedding hotel room.

In aposton Reddit’s “Wedding Drama” forum, the bride, 35, explained that she and her fiancée, 41, initially planned on eloping in Las Vegas, but because their families didn’t want to be left out, the women decided to pay for a micro-wedding, inviting just under 10 of their “most special guests.”

On their wedding website, the brides clarified that “everyone is responsible for their own rooms, arrangements, flights, etc.” but one guest didn’t get the memo.

“We planned a week out in Vegas, the first few days being just for me and my future wife,” the Redditor wrote. “However, my dear mother doesn’t want to fly out to Vegas just for a wedding. She’s never been to Vegas so she wants to make a whole trip of it.”

The bride argued that “this is not a family trip.”

“Although my family will be there, it is a trip for me and my wife. It is our wedding, after all,” she said, but conceded anyway.

A few months ago, the bride’s single mother, 60, suggested something shocking to her.

“My mother suggested to stay with us in our hotel suite for the first few nights, the three of us,” the bride wrote. “I shot that idea down pretty hard and explained there won’t be enough room … I was definitely surprised she had the wherewithal to even [ask].”

While the room is small, with just one bed and a “thin” couch, that was just an excuse. In actuality, the bride felt that it would be inappropriate for her mother to stay in the same room, no matter its size, considering it’s typical for couples to get intimate during their wedding and honeymoon.

Because the weather has been bad lately where she lives, the mother said that she’ll be at the wedding but is considering canceling her hotel room for the three days prior to the nuptials in order to not waste money in case her flight gets canceled.

This didn’t bother the bride because she originally wanted alone time with her soon-to-be wife. But what upset her was her mother’s repeated request that she stay in their room.

“So if I cancel my hotel room but end up going out that day anyway, can I stay with you in your room?” she asked.

" ‘Mom, no, it’s not appropriate to be in my wedding suite during the wedding week,’ " the Redditor said she responded, to which her mother argued, " ‘I’ll sleep on the floor!’ "

Despite the bride explaining the reasons why “it’s not appropriate” for her mother to be there, she continued to say that she didn’t “understand” and took it personally.

While it’s true that the bride wants to spend some one-on-one quality time with her fiancée before the big day, she said it was nothing personal against her mother.

“I never thought my own mother would be so enmeshed with me that she would suggest to stay in my room with me,” the poster wrote. “Why? I don’t even understand why you would want to stay with your daughter and her new wife in her wedding suite? I can’t believe I had to tell the woman who raised me, the woman who taught me manners and respect, I can’t believe I had to explain to her why she can’t stay in the room with me and my partner.”

Even though the bride feels “so guilty,” she knows she’s “making the right decision.”

“Never expected my own mother to be a monster-in-law,” she admitted.

“Make sure there is a room available so she can’t pull any stunts,” one user commented, with another person adding, “Make sure she doesn’t have your room number and can’t convince the front desk to give her a key. Give them a heads-up that she is not to know your room number or have access.”

“She’ll be killing the vibe on your honeymoon,” a Redditor argued.
