Morgan Wallenwill spend seven days at a DUI education center, months after he was arrestedfor throwing a chair from the roof of a Nashville bar.
A judge in Nashville sentenced the country star, 31, to one week of incarceration, to be served at a DUI education center, as well as two years' probation — one year for each of his misdemeanor charges for reckless endangerment — on Thursday, Dec. 12. The star must also pay a $350 fine and court fees.
“Mr. Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities throughout these last eight months, directly communicating and apologizing to all involved. Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation,” his attorney Worrick Robinson IVsaid in a statement to PEOPLE.

“Today was a very typical day in a criminal case in general sessions court in Davidson County,” Robinson told reporters after the hearing.
“This is obviously a very complicated case and it’s not going to resolve itself without subpoenas and witnesses,” he continued. “We’ll work on the case on our end, and then Morgan will be here on August 15th. Several things can happen — we might have a hearing, we might settle the case or the case might be continued. Those are the options. We’re not required to enter a plea of any type.”
Days after the incident,a source told PEOPLEthe “I Had Some Help” singer wasn’t expected at the bar opening and didn’t spend much time there before allegedly throwing the chair.
“Morgan is generally a nice, fun person to hang out with, but when he gets going he doesn’t know when to stop,” the source told PEOPLE. “Morgan and alcohol is a problem and it’s been a problem that keeps coming back around.”
On April 19, the singer — who waspreviously arrested for public intoxication in May 2020—addressed his arrestin a statement posted on his X account.
“I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility,” he wrote. “I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change.”
That same month,PEOPLE spoke to Nashville-based criminal defense attorneyand legal expert David Raybin, who said that while Wallen could technically face up to six years in prison because of the three counts, the chances of him being sentenced to the maximum and serving all of those sentences consecutively are “very remote."
Most recently, Wallen wasnamed entertainer of the yearat the 2024 CMA Awards, where he was not present to accept the award. It remains unclear why Wallen — who wrapped his One Night at a Time tour in October — wasn’t in attendance.
