FormerMy Chemical Romancedrummer Bob Bryar’s cause of death has been ruled undetermined.
While the medical examiner suspected an “intentional or accidental overdose,” because of the state of Bryar’s body, his cause and manner of death were “best classified as undetermined,” TMZ reported from the autopsy details.

Bryar was 44 when he died. According to TMZ, which was first to report the news, his body was found on Nov. 26, 2024, and authorities told the outlet that he was last seen alive on Nov. 4.
At the time, a representative for My Chemical Romance told PEOPLE that “the band asks for your patience and understanding as they process the news of Bob’s passing.”
The emo bandshared its condolencesfor Bryaron Dec. 2 via Instagram.
Bryar performed with My Chemical Romance from 2004 until his departure in 2010.
Shortly after the release of their 2004 albumThree Cheers for Sweet Revenge, he joined the New Jersey group, replacing original drummer Matt Pelissier, according toNMEandKerrang!.

Bryar joined the rock band after he studied sound engineering at the University of Florida and began working as a sound engineer for Thrice and The Used, eventually striking up a friendship with MCR during their tour with the latter in 2004, per NME.
He played on the group 2006’s albumThe Black Paradeand worked on material for 2010’sDanger Daysbefore his departure, according toKerrang!
