Nail Technician Secretly Does His Girlfriend’s Engagement Nails: ‘Didn’t Want to Make Her Suspicious’

A nail technician secretly did his girlfriend’s engagement nails.

Many women hope to have perfectly manicured and painted nails when they’re proposed to so that their hands look good while photographing or showing off their new engagement ring. Knowing this, Ansan Nguyen wanted to ensure his girlfriend’s nails looked great before he proposed to her. The tricky part was that he was her nail technician and didn’t want to make it obvious that he was about to pop the question.

“She thinks this is just her regular, weekly nail appointment. Little does she know, I’m going to ask her to marry me,” Nguyen said in a video posted onTikTokof himself doing his girlfriend’s nails.

He continued: “I genuinely believe that she’s not suspicious at all because this is such a regular thing for her. She just assumes she’s getting her weekly nail refresh.”

It’s common for engagement nails to be French tips, or a shade of pink or white. So that was off the table.

“I didn’t want to make her suspicious so I didn’t do your typical engagement nail. I wanted to do likeHailey Bieber nails, or pearly white chrome. But she’s way too smart and would jump to conclusions,” Nguyen said. “So I decided to do these glass nails. I saw them on TikTok and they’re really trendy. It also looks very simple to me and would work as engagement nails, but it doesn’t scream, ‘Hey, I’m gonna propose to you.’ "

Luckily, everything went according to plan. Nguyen’s girlfriend was surprised and “she said yes!”

“She secured free nails for life!” Nguyen captioned his video.

“Wait, those are fantastic proposal nails! They make her fingers look so long and elegant but they’re not flashy! Perfect for showing off a ring!!” one person commented, while another added, “She won so hard.”
