A New Jersey woman has been charged after authorities allege she bludgeoned her mother to death.
On Tuesday, Dec. 17, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said in anews releasethat 32-year-old Breanna Beacham was charged with first-degree murder after allegedly killing her mother Kim Beacham-Hanson on Monday, Dec. 16.
The killing took place “in the victim’s home in the Hawthorne Park neighborhood," the release states.
“Breanna Beacham, who was temporarily staying at the Hopewell Lane residence with her mother, was charged with Murder (First Degree), Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Third Degree) and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Fourth Degree),” the release states.
Beacham was taken into custody on Tuesday and was transported to the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly, prosecutors said.

“The case will now be prepared for presentation to a grand jury for possible indictment," the release read.
It’s not immediately clear if Beacham has entered a plea or retained an attorney.
Police found Beacham-Hanson, 57, after they were called to the residence before 4 p.m. on Monday “for a report of an assault in progress.”
The motive for the attack is still under investigation.
