Noah was just showing us how music makes him happy," says Big Bird, before the “Stick Season” singer adds, “In fact, music can help when you’re having all kind of feelings.”
Kahan then launches into a catchy earworm where he sings about how music chan help through heartbreak, when a “toy breaks” or when “thoughts are flying around like snowflakes flurrying.”
“Music music happy music helps when I feel sad / When I sing a happy song pretty soon the smile’s back,” he and theSesame Streetensemble sing on the chorus.
Kahan later walks around with his acoustic guitar and serenades Big Bird as he clutches a teddy bear in his nest.
At the end of the clip, the “Call Your Mom” performer returns to theSesame Streetsteps with his acoustic guitar where Rosita is also playing guitar and Big Bird is playing the tambourine.
“Yeah! Mr. Noah is right. Music can help when you have all different kinds of feelings,” exclaims Elmo as the video concludes.

In January,the Season 55 trailerrevealed that upcoming episodes would feature artists includingSZA(who previously appeared onSesame Streetin 2024),Samara Joy(who belted out the iconic theme song),Chris Stapletonand Kahan. Other guest stars includeMichael B. Jordan,Billie Jean KingandJonathan Van Ness.
“Feelings are real so let them show,” she, and the Muppets sang in the clip. “It’s okay, there’s a way to show your feelings.” At another point, Elmo points out the healing power of music, saying it can help when someone “has all kinds of feelings.”
Sesame Streetseason 55 premiered on Thursday, Jan. 16 and drops new episodes weekly on Max.
