Pregnant Kylie Kelce Shares the One Parenting Trend She Refuses to Do with Her Kids: 'Vehemently Against the Idea'

Kylie Kelceis “vehemently” against one particular parenting trend.

The soon-to-bemom of four, 32, opened up on theThursday, Feb. 20 episodeof herNot Gonna Liepodcast about all of her thoughts on kid’s birthday parties. Kylie, who sharesdaughters Bennett, 2, Elliotte “Ellie,” 3 and Wyatt, 5,with husbandJason Kelce, 37, shared the one parenting trend that she feels is “very participation trophy-esque” and “not happening” in her family.

“I am vehemently against the idea of other kids getting birthday presents on a child’s birthday,” she said. “Our family knows, no one else is receiving a birthday present for Bennett’s birthday. Everyone gets a special day.”

“When your siblings get presents for your birthday, it reduces your birthday. It’s not their birthday. It’s your birthday,” she continued. “I think it teaches them to a degree that just because someone’s getting presents doesn’t mean you get presents. It feels very participation trophy-esque and not happening.”

The pregnant mom of three also was brutally honest about her feelings on havinghuge birthday parties for kidsbefore 2 years old.

“I am not a big fan of big birthdays for babies,” she said. “I feel like it’s just making more work for ourselves. I would much rather get a cake and give them a piece and then just let them go in on it, which is exactly what we’ve done.”

“For the past couple birthdays, [we’ve] either decorated a cake to the specifications of the birthday girl or we have ordered a cake to make it special,” she added, saying this year Elliotte chose aT.O.T.S-themed cake, while her sister Bennett picked aFrozen-themed one. “We will scroll Pinterest and Google search to see some birthday cakes for kids' birthdays, and then we order it. I think it’s very special for them to get to show all of the people who come to celebrate their birthday that they got to pick their cake and how excited they are for it.”

“Number one, as much as it pains me to say, minivans,” Kylie told listeners, before adding, “I said what I said. And for the people, my friends, who are hearing this, I don’t need a wellness check, although I have told you before that that is what it would take if I ever said I was getting a minivan.”

Kylie acknowledged that despite clearly not being a fan of van life, she knows a smaller car isn’t going to cut it when loading in all of her car seats later this year.

“Here’s the problem. I’m about to have four car seats, four, in one car, and we’re gonna do a little three-year commitment, guys. We’re gonna do three years,” she said. “We’re gonna grind it out, and then we’re gonna pretend it never happened. Kay?”
