Princess Tatianais looking inward after a tumultuous year.
The Princess of Greece and Denmark shared a reflective Instagram post on March 4, in which she looked back at her younger self as well as toward her future. Recalling a freshman sociology professor at Georgetown who posed the question of identity, asking, “What makes you, you?” Tatiana admitted she’s struggled over the years to find an answer.
“Last year, I lost another layer of identity,” the princess, 44, continued. “But maybe identity isn’t something we lose, it’s something we evolve, rediscover, and redefine.”
Tatiana and her husband, Prince Nikolaos, announced their surprising separationin April 2024 after nearly 14 years of marriage.
In a shocking move, Nikólaos remarried less than 10 months later, tying the knot with Greek shipping heiressChrysí Vardinogiannion Feb. 7, 2025. The newlywed couple never formally shared news of their engagement, and the ceremony was announced only a week in advance.

“When people ask if I will continue to live in Greece, my answer has never been more of a YES. Because of you,” added the princess, who maintained her royal titles following the divorce. Tatiana was born in Venezuela, but made Athens her home after marrying Prince Nikolaos, 55, in 2010.
“The past few weeks have been an adventure—full of change, growth and exciting new opportunities,” wrote the activist and mental health advocate. “If there’s one thing I’ve realized, it’s that no matter how much green juice you drink, without community, there is no true health. So, thank you all for keeping me healthy. My heart is full.”

In her latest update, Tatiana wrote that she’s “taking my own advice and taking a step back before moving forward.”
“This month, I will be traveling to some of the places that have shaped me. Seeking the stories, the people & moments that have made me who I am. I’m excited about this and looking forward to sharing it with all of you,” she revealed.
“Exploring what makes you who you are and how important the questions of identity, community & roots play in one’s wellbeing,” Tatiana added, before posing the original question: “What makes you who you are?”
