Queen Rania’s Daughter Princess Iman Welcomes First Baby with Husband Jameel Thermiotis: ‘Grateful and Overjoyed’

Queen Raniais celebrating the latest addition to her family.

In ajoint Instagram postshared with the Royal Hashemite Court, Queen Rania wrote that her “darling” 28-year-old daughter is “now a mother” herself, before revealing the newborn’s name. “We’re grateful and overjoyed to meet Amina, our family’s newest blessing,” she wrote in a caption translated to English. “Congratulations Jameel and Iman — may God bless you and your precious little girl.”

In one image, the King could be seen giving his newborn granddaughter a kiss on the forehead as she was bundled up, with Queen Rania holding her up lovingly in another slide.

Crown Prince Hussein — Princess Iman’s brother — also paid tribute to the newest member of the family with a touchingInstagram post, calling the newborn a “lifelong companion” to his own child.

Princess Iman and Jameel tied the knot in March 2023 during aroyal weddingin Amman — less than a year after the Royal Hashemite Court announced their engagement in July 2022.

“Grateful for all the precious memories we share and overjoyed to see you celebrate your wedding today… I wish you, dear Iman and Jameel, a lifetime of blessings and happiness together,” Crown Prince Hussein posted at the time.

As previously reported, Jameel was was born in Venezuela, holds a business degree and has worked in finance in New York.

Theconstitution of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordanstates that the throne is passed down through King Abdullah Ibn Al-Hussein’s dynasty, following a hereditary line of male heirs — with the elder Iman and her newborn not being in the line of succession.

“The Royal title shall pass from the holder of the Throne to his eldest son, then to the eldest son of that eldest son, and in linear succession in a similar process thereafter,” Article 28 states. “Should the eldest son die before the Throne devolves upon him, his eldest son shall inherit the Throne, even if the deceased has brothers. The King may, however, select one of his brothers as heir apparent. In this event, the title to the Throne shall pass to him from the holder of the Throne.”

Crown Prince Hussein has continued to share images of his infant on social media in recent months, including with aNew Year’s Eve postand in November, when he and his daughter dressed up for a soccer match between Jordan’s national team and Iraq.
