Robert Pattinson Recalls 'Very Sweet Moment' He Met Fiancée Suki Waterhouse at at a Starry House Party

It was love at first bite forRobert PattinsonandSuki Waterhouse.

“She was sitting opposite me,” said Pattinson, 38, of Waterhouse, 32, whomhe got engaged toin December 2023 afterfive years of dating. They shareone child: a daughter, born in March.

“Suki and I kept making each other laugh, to the point where someone told us we weren’t taking the game seriously enough," he continued of their first meeting. “That was a very, very sweet moment.”

“It was very, very intense,” she told the magazine of the Hollywood game night where she first met Pattinson in 2018. “There were lots of ‘big’ characters [there], real heavy-hitters. … Al Pacino was there. Javier and Penélope were there … and, you know, everyone was reallyacting.”

“I was sure that I’d met him a long time ago, but he didn’t think that we had,” Waterhouse continued of Pattinson, adding that during the event, they “started giggling at the absurdity of the whole thing” to the point where they “got told off.”

“There was a director that separated us because we were laughing too much,” recalled theDaisy Jones & The Sixstar.

Waterhouse also noted that she thinks she andThe Batmanactor “both sort of have the same slight uncomfortable-ness” that drew them together.

As for her perception of her partner now, “I think Rob’s quite funny,” she told BritishVogue. “Ilight up when I’m around him.”

A source told PEOPLE in October that Waterhouse and Pattinson are enjoying their time together in Los Angeles and are “doing great.”

“They arevery much in love and happy,” the insider said. “They take turns working so one of them can always care for their daughter.”

“Rob’s an amazing dad,” the source added. “They are both great parents and truly enjoy it. They travel together as a family and love to bring their daughter along.”
