Sabrina CarpenterandBarry Keoghanhave “decided to take a break” from their romance, according to a source who spoke to PEOPLE in December 2024.

The “Feather” singerandSaltburnactor first sparked dating rumors in late 2023. A few months later, the couple enjoyed a date night in Los Angeles, where onlookers told PEOPLE they “shared a little kiss.”

Carpenter and Keoghan made their red carpet debut in March 2024 at theVanity FairOscars afterpartybeforeattending the Met Galatogether in May of that same year.

In November 2024, Keoghan appeared onThe Louis Theroux Podcastwhere he was asked explicitly about his relationship status. He managed to avoid confirming his romance with Carpenter, but the actor did say he was “incredibly blessed” to have the pop star in his life.

After Carpenter attended an advance screening ofSaltburnin New York City on Sept. 20, 2023, she reportedly met Keoghan a week later at a fashion event. According toE! News, they first crossed paths during Paris Fashion Week when they both attended a Givenchy show on Sept. 28.

During the event, Carpenter was seen rocking a sheer black dress before posing alongside her fellow Disney Channel alum Dove Cameron in the front row. Meanwhile, Keoghan was photographed at the event wearing black slacks and a bomber jacket.

“It definitely seemed like a date,” an onlooker told PEOPLE of the pair’s outing, adding that they were “cute” together and “shared a little kiss.”

Carpenter and Keoghan appeared to “soft launch” their relationship atW Magazine, Mark Ronson, and Gucci’s Grammys afterparty on Feb. 4. Though they posed separately on the red carpet, they were seen cozying up together inside the event.

The colorful accessory, that he was snapped wearing atVanity Fairand Instagram’s Vanities Party, was decorated with a heart charm and included the name “Sabrina” seemingly spelled out with letter beads.

April 13, 2024: Barry Keoghan supports Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella

Keoghan was a supportive boyfriend as Carpenter performed at Coachella in April. The actor was seentaping the singer on his phoneas she performed her set in the desert. At one point, Carpenter was seen waving at Keoghan, causing him to crack a smile.

Later in the night,the two hung out with Swift and Travis Kelceas they watched Ice Spice perform on stage.

During an interview onThe Louis Theroux Podcast, Keoghan gushed about Carpenter.
