Ravioli, apparently, is to blame for World No. 1 ranked golferScottie Scheffler’s hand injury.
Scheffler, 28, spoke to reporters over Zoom during the Arnold Palmer Invitational media day on Monday, Jan. 20, where he revealed the rather wholesome way he hurt his hand.
According toGolfweekandNBC Sports, Scheffler — whowelcomed son Bennett with his wife Meredithlast May — said he broke a glass while making ravioli with his family on Christmas Day and hurt his hand.
The injury left the world’s top-ranked golfer in need of surgery and forced him to skip the Sentry and the American Express tournaments earlier this month.
Scheffler told the media “everything went will with the surgery” and his “body feels pretty good” ahead of the next tee-off.

“Still making decisions on schedule going forward,” he explained, “but we should know in the next few days to a week whether I’ll be playing next week” in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which kicks off Jan. 30 at Pebble Beach in California.
“But overall recovery is going well, everything is on schedule so we’ll see, but feeling good,” Scheffler added.
He added that he took “a couple weeks off” after surgery “to make sure everything is healing properly and made sure we’re in a good spot,” per Golfweek.

Charges were droppedon May 29 after Jefferson County attorney Mike O’Connell said, “Based on the totality of evidence, my office cannot move forward in the prosecution of the charges filed against Mr. Scheffler.”
