Sean “Diddy” Combsis suing NBC and Peacock after the network aired a documentary detailing his rise to power in the music industry and the spate of sexual misconduct allegations trailing him.

The suit claims that Combs, who is currently facing federal sex crime charges, was defamed inDiddy: The Making of a Bad Boy, which features interviews with themusic mogul’s accusersas well as other former associates, including singerAl B. Sure!, who seemingly floats the possibility thatKim Porter— Combs’ ex and mother of three of his children — was murdered.

“[The documentary] shamelessly advances conspiracy theories that lack any foundation in reality, repeatedly insinuating that Mr. Combs is a serial killer because it cannot be a ‘coincidence’ that multiple people in Mr. Combs’ orbit have died,” the complaint claims.

The suit also references Courtney Burgess; Combs alleges that Burgess claimed he had video of the Bad Boy Records founder sexually assaulting celebrities and minors.

“Burgess has never met Mr. Combs and has never had any relationship with anyone in Mr. Combs’s family,” the complaint claims. “Nevertheless, Burgess has claimed on multiple occasions that Kimberly Porter provided him with a copy of her memoir and videos depicting Mr. Combs sexually assaulting inebriated celebrities and minors.”

The suit further alleges that NBC aired the claims even though they “knew or recklessly disregarded that Burgess did not possess such videos.”

Combs previously filed suit against Burgess and his attorney, Ariel Mitchell-Kidd, in January, accusing them of defamation.

A spokesperson for NBC and Peacock could not immediately be reached for comment.

“Grossly exploiting the trust of their audience and racing to outdo their competition for the most salacious Diddy exposé, defendants maliciously and recklessly broadcast outrageous lies in ‘Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy,’” Combs’ attorney Erica Wolff says in a statement to PEOPLE. “In the purported documentary, Defendants accuse Mr. Combs of horrible crimes, including serial murder and sexual assault of minors – knowing that there is no evidence to support them.”

Combs is currently in custody in New York after he wasindictedon federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.
