“I’m going to Disney World!”
The trend began in 1987, when New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms became the first to shout the now-iconic phrase — and earned a reported $50,000 for doing so,according to ESPN.
After leading his team to victory over the Denver Broncos, Simms appeared in Disney’s “What’s Next?” campaign and celebrated with his family during an all-day experience at Magic Kingdom. Since then, it’s become a beloved staple of Super Bowl lore, combining the excitement of a championship win with the magic of Disney.
Check out some of the most accomplished quarterbacks in football (Patrick Mahomes!Tom Brady!Drew Brees!) enjoying their Main Street, USA moments at Disney World and Disneyland over the years.
