The Colombian singer’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour got underway in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday, Feb. 11, putting her jaw-dropping style front and center. For her first tour in seven years, the star turned to two Indian designers — Gaurav Gupta Couture and Anamika Khanna — for stunning custom stage looks.

The creations showcased Shakira’s softer side as well as the red-hot style she’s known for. Gaurav Gupta opted for a deeply personal design that gives new meaning to the term “custom.” Her sculpted blue gown featured a metallic lunar blue breastplate featuring a wolf motif that was molded to the singer’s exact measurements, cascading into a skirt of fluid layers. The dress took over six artisans a whopping 600 hours to make.

“From the moment Shakira’s team got in touch with us, it was clear that the wolf is deeply symbolic to her," couturier Gaurav Gupta says in a press release. “It reflects her instinctual energy, fearless spirit, and wild, untamed power. That connection resonated with me and the brand, inspiring us to create a design that embodies that essence…. dressing her for this moment is an absolute honor.”

“To dress Shakira for this moment is an incredible honour,” Anamika Khanna says of the look. “Her music, her artistry, and her presence on stage are magnetic. This look was designed to celebrate her energy - bold yet intricate, powerful yet delicate. We wanted to bring alive the essence of movement, rhythm, and emotion that defines her performance of Ojos Así.”

She adds, “This is also a moment for Indian craftsmanship to shine on a truly global stage, and I couldn’t be prouder.”
