Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens Adorably Visit Daycare in South Africa During Their Belated Safari Honeymoon

Simone Bilesand husbandJonathan Owensspent some time with little ones during their belatedhoneymoon to South Africa.

“Obert started this himself from the ground up,” wrote Biles, 27, on herInstagram story. “He just wanted to help the community and the children.”

The gold medalist explained that the daycare serves 87 local children and gives them a safe space to learn and play while their parents are at work.

The couple has been reveling in their honeymoon, which they were finally able to go on almost two years after theirApril 2023 weddingin Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Biles and Owens, 29, first met in 2020 and becameengaged two years later.

Romantic photos started popping up on the star’s social media as soon as she and the Chicago Bears safety began their trip from the U.S. to South Africa in mid-February.

In the trip update on Feb. 20, Biles celebrated the staff and children at the daycare.

“They arrive at 6 a.m. and usually leave around 6 p.m,” wrote Biles on her Instagram story, calling the staff members who run the daycare “literal saints.”

“We had such a good time visiting the kids,” she wrote.

After their 2023 wedding, the couple has been busy with their respective careers. Owens left the Green Bay Packers and signed atwo-year free-agent contract with the Chicago Bears. Biles, meanwhile, competed in the Paris Summer Olympics,taking home four medals.

Last summer, Owens explained that supporting one another is anelement of their relationshiphe loves.

“I love watching [it] from an athlete’s perspective because that’s how you’d be great in any sport, is just being consistent and doing the same thing consistently good every day,” he said. “You know what I mean? I love to watch it and I love to be out there and be a cheerleader.”
