Sophia Loren’s Granddaughter Lucia Made Society Debut Alongside Apple Martin: All About Her Armani Ball Gown

Sophia Loren’s granddaughter Lucia is making her debut!

Lucia Sofia Ponti, who was named after her famous grandmother, was an honorary debutante at the 2024 Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris on Saturday, Nov. 30. The 18-year-old was one of about 20 young women between the ages of 16 and 22 to be introduced to society.

Fellow A-listers like Lily Collins, Margaret Qualley, Ava Philippe, and Scout Willis have previously made their debut at the annual ball.

“I tend to go for dresses or clothes that make me feel confident but also are comfortable to wear,” Lucia toldHello!ahead of the ball. “I had looked through other dresses that were featured in Le Bal in previous years, and they all individually represented the girls so beautifully. I just hoped to find a dress that would do the same for me.”

Lucia also told the outlet how her grandmother, 90, has influenced her fashion sense.

“My grandmother always believed in timeless elegance and the importance of wearing something that reflects your true self,” she shared.“Growing up, she taught me the value of simplicity, tailoring, and always adding a touch of uniqueness to your outfit,” Lucia continued. “Her wardrobe was filled with pieces that told a story, and I’ve carried that mindset with me "

At the ball, Lucia appeared alongside other celebrity kids such as Apple Martin, the daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, and Sophie Kodjoe, daughter ofAnd Just Like That…actress Nicole Ari Parker.

The gown was “fashioned in six dégradé tiers of silk plissé chiffon, cinched at the waist with a black silk bow” and paired with matching blue Valentino sandals, perVogue.

Apple’s parents andbrother, Mosesall attended the event in Valentino outfits. Gwyneth, 52, donned a gown from Valentino’s spring 2025 collection while Chris, 47, and Moses, 18, wore custom Valentino tuxedos.
