Taco Bell Heats Up the Cantina Chicken Menu After Items’ ‘Unmatched Popularity’ in 2024

Taco Bellis giving some fan-favorite items a fiery upgrade.

Starting on Thursday, Feb. 27, fans can get their hands on the new Caliente Cantina Chicken menu — which adds a spicy twist to the beloved items introduced in 2024.

The five spicy additions are hot versions of theCantina Chicken tacos and burritosthat fans first tried in March of last year. The slow-roasted chicken-focused items were an immediate success with “unmatched popularity,” according to a press release, and were in one out of every fourTaco Bellorders in 2024.

Now, the chicken-charged crispy taco, soft taco, burrito, quesadilla and bowl all get a red-hot sauce — that gets its bright red color from red jalapeños — on the Caliente menu.

The Caliente Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco fills a fried corn shell with chicken, shredded cheese and Caliente sauce. It is then coated with a layer of grilled cheese on the outside of the shell for an even gooier bite.

The Caliente Cantina Chicken Soft Taco has chicken, lettuce, purple cabbage, shredded cheese, pico de gallo and Caliente sauce in each soft tortilla. The Caliente Cantina Chicken Burrito has all the same innards as the soft taco but with a double portion of the slow-roasted chicken.

Cheeseheads can opt for the Caliente Cantina Chicken Quesadilla. This item has chicken, cheese and Caliente sauce inside, a grilled cheese outside to the tortillas and servings of guacamole and sour cream on the side for dipping.

The Caliente Cantina Chicken Bowl is the heartiest of the five items with scoops of chicken, rice and black beans in each order. Lettuce, purple cabbage, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, cheddar cheese and Caliente sauce add even more oomph to the option.

Taco Bell plans to keep the spice coming as the weather continues to heat up. On March 27, Caliente Cantina Chicken Nacho Fries will join the lineup. Seasoned fries get loaded up with chicken, nacho cheese, cheddar cheese, fiesta strips, sour cream and Caliente sauce for this limited-time option.

While everyone has to be patient for the fries, rewards members can get a taste of the other five Caliente Cantina Chicken items sooner than Thursday. Rewards members can snag the new items on Feb. 25 and Feb. 26 via the Taco Bell app.

There is also a sweet treat new to Taco Bell’s menu:Milk Bar Birthday Cake Churros. The fast food spot joined forces with the New York City-founded bakery to release the treat on Thursday, Feb. 20. The churros are filled with birthday cake frosting and topped with bright pink confetti sprinkles.

The dessert is available nationwide for a limited time starting on the day they were announced.
