Tammy Slaton Is 'Seeking Love' in Women After Husband's Death, Says Being with a Man 'Doesn't Feel Right' (Exclusive)

Tammy Slatonis re-entering the dating scene for the first time since her husband died.

In PEOPLE’s exclusive clip from Tuesday’s season finale of1000-Lb. Sisters, the 38-year-old is sitting at home having a candid conversation with her brother Chris and his wife Brittany.

“It’s almost been a year since Caleb passed. I think I’m ready to start looking for somebody,” she says.

Chris tells her the only thing that matters to him is that the person she finds will treat her well.

“Lately I’ve been feeling like it’s time for me to start moving on and to start seeking love again, but this time I’m thinking of seeing a female,” Slaton explains in a confessional. “As it stands right now, I don’t want to be with another man. It just doesn’t feel right. I don’t even have those feelings for a guy anymore after Caleb passed.”

In the clip, Slaton was referring to her late husbandCaleb Willingham, who she met at Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio while she was there working on her weight loss journey. The two fell in love and quickly married in November 2022.

He was the love of her life, Slaton told PEOPLE exclusively at the time. “What’s not to love? He really fit in with our family.”

But seven months later, Willinghamdied at the age of 40of unknown causes.

“When I met Caleb he became my guardian angel and now he really is watching over me,” she said.

Earlier this year, Slaton also briefly opened up about her sexuality after Willingham’s death. She posted a TikTok video in January responding to a follower who asked if she was transgender after using emojis for the Pride flag and transgender flag in her caption.

“No, I’m not trans. I’m just asupporter of everybody,” she explained. “I was saying I was pansexual but I kinda stopped messing with guys after my husband passed. So, I’m like a lesbian.”

“I was just showing support,” she said at the time. “I’m not a hater. Love is love. Everybody deserves love whether they’re gay, straight, trans, pan, bi, nonbinary, whatever. I’m just a lover.”
