TheTeen Momalum, 33, caught up with PEOPLE ahead of herDiary of a Teen Momcomedy debut in New York City on Thursday, March 13. Abraham, who welcomed daughter Sophia when she was 17, tells PEOPLE about her daughter’s recentbirthday celebrationback in February, saying that she is “beyond proud” of her.
“I am beyond proud of my daughter, and now I look back and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, why did my parents let me do crazy stuff?’ " Abraham jokes. “Because my daughter’s just so calm, not traumatized, and it’s just a beautiful thing.”

Abraham says the two talk about her experience of having a daughter at a young age, noting that they “totally have revisited it.”
“And there’s no concerns with her. She doesn’t rush her relationships,” Abraham says. “She doesn’t get lost in a fantasy of relationships at her age. She dates long-distance. We fly, they fly in, they’re all homeschooled and it’s just so peaceful.”
When asked if there was one thing she’d tell herself when she was on the reality show16 and Pregnant, Abraham stresses that there’s “nothing to regret” and that she loves Sophia.
“I love being a young parent still. I love being kind of like an empty nester right now,” Abraham tells PEOPLE. “And this is also why I need to do comedy. I need something to do.”
Earlier this week, Abraham shared more about her decision to leave the suburbs when her daughter was young.
“That’s when I took her out of public school. She was 5 years old and, I don’t know, it was like, ‘Why are 5-year-olds coming to public school talking about my sex life to my daughter?’ " she told the hosts.
“I know I took over this whole community of like couples and their brains, but for it to go all the way down to 5-year-olds? So, I got out of the suburbs. Bye suburbs. It was not gonna happen anymore.”
