It’s been 10 years sinceCharlie Coxfirst put on the red suit forDaredevil, which ran on Netflix from 2015 to 2018. Now he’s reprising his role alongside a slew of former costars, including Vincent D’Onofrio,Deborah Ann WollandJon Bernthal, in a reboot that is already slated for a season 2, perCollider.

For years, D’Onofrio kept telling Cox that it wasn’t over for their characters — that Marvel would be calling to continue the Daredevil story. But Cox didn’t believe him.

“I’d moved on,” the actor told PEOPLE in August 2024 before admitting that he’d thought D’Onofrio was “delusional” for the past decade for thinkingDaredevilwould be rebooted. “He was right. I didn’t see it. For me, it was shocking.”

Daredevil: Born Again, which premiered on March 4,follows Matt Murdock (Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities who is fighting for justice through his law firm. Meanwhile, former mob boss Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) is pursuing his political endeavors as the newly-elected mayor of New York City.

When Murdock and Fisk’s identities as Daredevil and Kingpin come to light, the men find themselves at odds once again.

After Marvel announced the reboot in 2022, Cox spoke withNMEabout the “reincarnation” of his character. He told the outlet that Daredevil will be more “quick-witted and funny and charismatic" in the Disney+ series.

He also teased thatDaredevil: Born Again"will be dark but probably won’t be as gory," to appeal to a slightly younger audience.

While getting another chance to play the iconic superhero was not on Cox’s bingo card, the opportunity was not one he took for granted.

“It’s such an honor. I don’t think it can be overstated,” he reiterated toMoviefonein March 2025. “In 2018, when the show was canceled, I really thought that that was the end of the road for us, and to be honest, I’m still pinching myself that we’re back here.”

Vincent D’Onofrio is also reprising his role as Matt Murdock’s archenemy, Kingpin, or Wilson Fisk.

During an appearance onThe Kelly Clarkson Showin February 2025, D’Onofrio confirmed that his character — mob boss turned New York City mayor — is still “crazy.”

“It’s definitely the same show. I consider it a fourth season,” the actor shared, referring to Netflix’sDaredevilthat ran for three seasons. “The darkness is the same. The brutality is the same.”

“I love playing this character,” he said. “It’s all for the fans … When I learned we were coming back, I was so thrilled.”

Deborah Ann Woll is back as Matt Murdock’s best friend Karen Page inDaredevil: Born Again.

However, the original plans for the reboot didn’t include her character. Woll toldEntertainment Weeklyin March 2025 that it was a “roller coaster” of emotions before she was officially cast.

“It’s so rare for something to come back in a significant way after so many years,” she told the outlet. “So being asked back after the fact was just icing on the cake.”

Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson

Elden Henson is also reprising his role as Matt Murdock’s close friend and law partner Foggy Nelson.

“I hoped. I dreamed, but to be honest, I didn’t think it would come,” he toldEntertainment Tonightin March 2025 of a chance to play Foggy again. “I feel lucky to be in the right place and the right time to channel Foggy.”

“I think it’s his moral code. He’s a guy that sees things in black and white and always wants to do the right thing … He believes in the law and going about things the right way,” he told the outlet. “Foggy has a lot of characteristics that I strive for in my own personal life.”

Wilson Bethel as Bullseye

Wilson Bethel returns as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, also known as evil supervillain Bullseye, inDaredevil: Born Again.

“This character and this project is one of the things I’ve been most connected to in my entire career,” he toldThe Hollywood Reporterin February 2025.

The actor went on to compare donning Bullseye’s costume again to “putting on your favorite leather jacket.”

Fan favorite Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle, or The Punisher, in the Disney+ reboot.

While speaking atD23in August 2024, Bernthal shared his “genuine excitement” for the project.

“I think if you’re a fan of the show that you saw before, you’re going to be a fan of this. I think we’re just taking it a step further," he said.

Bernthal continued, “We’re all here, we’re all enormously happy to be with each other. We’re proud of what we did.”

“This one is bringing a very real look at human beings in a way that is dissecting the human psychology in a way that we haven’t seen before,” Levieva teased.

Also new to the cast is Genneya Walton, who plays young N.Y.C. reporter BB Ulrich.

During an interview withPIX11 Newsin March 2025, Walton described BB as “very strong, determined [and] driven.” The actress also shared how she inadvertently manifested her role inDaredevil: Born Again.

“In my phone in 2017, I wrote that I wanted to get a role in this Marvel Universe,” she recalled. “After I had booked this, I saw it. I called my mom and was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I indirectly manifested it.’ "
