Entangled Publishingis launching two new YA imprints!
“In the last few years, I’ve seen a dramatic shift in the Young Adult market, with YA titles being sold more to adults and leaving teens looking for content that was truly crafted with them in mind — especially for those young readers moving up from Middle Grade fiction,” said Liz Pelletier, Entangled’s CEO and publisher. “Teens develop at different paces, and their reading choices should reflect that.”
“We can’t forget the importance of providing the right books for younger teen readers, too,” added Justine Bylo, associate publisher at Entangled. “My goal is to have separate shelves for General YA, Mature YA and New Adult. We want Mischief and Mayhem to grow with teens through bold storytelling and untamed imagination.”
Mayhem Books' first titles will launch in Fall 2025, the release stated. This imprint is for teens who aren’t ready for New Adult fiction just yet, but are searching for a similar level of romance and action. Aimed at ages 16 and older, Mayhem Books “won’t shy away from bold themes and situations more mature teens want to explore,” and will be published with a Mature 16+ marker on the book jacket and a content note for teens and parents alike.

“Life is fast-paced for many of us, but those late teen years are like a rocket ship toward adulthood,” Bylo said. “I’m excited that, with Mayhem Books, we’ve created a safe space, especially for those mature teen readers right as the world is opening up wide in front of them. The possibilities are truly boundless.”
