Among all the tears shed during theseason 3 finale of Hallmark Channel’sThe Way Home, were a few wedding bells ringing.

After Del (Andie MacDowell) asked to time travel for the first time, she and Kat (Chyler Leigh) landed in the 1970s just in time for her to watch her younger self (Julia Tomasone) marry the love of her life, Colton (Jordan Doww).

And no detail was spared, as is clear in PEOPLE’s exclusive photos from the fictional wedding day.

“[It’s] a love story for the ages,” Sadie Laflamme-Snow, who plays their eventual granddaughter Alice,wrote on Instagramabout the happy couple.

One of Del’s accessories was a personal touch just for Clarke. “The bow headpiece was not only era-appropriate but it was also a fun little nod to my own wedding dress when I got married,” she admits.

And They Will AgainJulia Tomasone and Jordan Doww in The Way Home.Hallmark Media/Photographer: Peter Stranks"Fun fact: The arbor that Colton and Del get married under is a bit of an Easter egg for our most avid fans," says Clarke. “It’s standing in the exact same place where the iconic outdoor dining pergola is built in the 1999 version of the farm (a setting for many a family dinner during that time). We basically wanted to say that a young Colton and Del put this little arbor up for their wedding and they loved it so much that they built a more permanent version in that very spot once they had a family. That’s what it’s all about on our show, after all!”

At this point in the season for present-day Del (MacDowell, with Leigh as Kat), “everything has been thrown into question for her about her love story with Colton and how she remembers it,” Clarke says of why she decides to time travel for the first time. “In order to give her this massive redemptive moment, she had to go back and see what is arguably the start of a chapter of their love story, but also the happily ever after moment of their teenage love story, which is this wedding. To know that her memories are hers, to know that she wasn’t wrong, that she shouldn’t doubt their love. It was exactly as she remembered it.”
