There wasn’t a speck of red in the bathroom sink after I used myelectric toothbrushand flossed the other day. As someone who has always had weak gums and is used to having a mouthful of blood every time I floss, I was pretty stunned.
The proof in my sink eased some of my skepticism, but keep reading for my full thoughts from a few weeks spent with this unique gadget.

You know that marble-smooth feeling your teeth have after going to the dentist? That’s pretty close to how your mouth feels after using the Proclaim each morning with plain tap water. If you add a cap full of the optionalminty infusion liquid(a bottle is included), you also get that pleasantly clean, tingly feeling I’ve only felt after professional cleanings.
My biggest complaint about water flossers is the mess of splashes they leave all over the counter and mirror, but the design of this device ensures every drop of dirty water funnels out through the end of the mouthpiece and into the sink. You have to go to a dentist in the Proclaim network to get your mouth scanned, which was a painless and tasteless process in my experience, and the cost of the scan is included in the price.

Other design features I like are the removable water reservoir, which pops on and off with ease, the strong magnetic link that keeps the wand firmly attached when not in use, and the tactile button that’s comfortable to hold down for the entire cleaning cycle (which, again, is literal seconds).
I have zero complaints about this device from a design and usability standpoint. The price of the Proclaim is its biggest drawback, but you can pay using HSA/FSA funds, making it something to consider with your leftover balance at the end of the year.
TheProclaim Custom-Jet Oral Health Systemis worth considering if you’ve struggled with gum sensitivity and bleeding. It has made my weak gums noticeably stronger in just a few weeks. It’s in an entirely different league from other water flossers I’ve used, and I find myself looking forward to using it each morning and feeling the smooth sheen it gives my teeth.
