“I have a full-blown teenager now,” the actress says. “She’s going to be 15, and so she’s quite busy with volleyball, school, homework and her own social life. She’s not in the kitchen as much as she used to, but it’s because she’s very busy.”

However, Thiessen says, Holt still “definitely loves to help.”

TheSaved By the Bellalum has partnered withIsopureto develop protein-boosted recipes. She says her latest one, carrot morning muffinswith the brand’szero-carb vanilla protein powder, are kid-approved.

“They’re really good,” Theissen says. “I always say that when you have a child that approves of a recipe, then you’ve got a huge win, right? They are the pickiest of eaters.”

Thiessen notes that, in addition to the protein, the muffins are “packed with the carrots and all the vegetables that they don’t always get.”

“They’re good eaters,” she adds, “but we can always be better.”

The actress, who made her acting debut in 1998, also shares that she feels special connections to some of her past projects because of her kids.

Speaking about her Netflix sitcomAlexa & Katie, she says, “That was a really great show. I think I have a lot of connection to that show because I loved that it was a different kind of sitcom. And my daughter was such a part of that show because she was growing up as I was doing that show.”

Thiessen says that kids in her son’s age range still come up to her “on a daily basis” to talk about the show, even though it wrapped after three seasons in 2020.

“It’s connecting with a whole new audience, which is kind of fun,” she adds.
