TikTok Star Gizem Özmen Dies at Age 24 After Car Reportedly Smashes Into Tanker

TikTok star Gizem Özmen has died at age 24 following a car crash.

The social media influencer, known as Lavinia online, died in the Kırkağaç district of Manisa Province in her native Turkey, reportedCNN Turkon Feb. 17.

Özmen was reportedly a passenger in the vehicle that collided with a parked tanker in the emergency lane on the Izmir-Istanbul Highway in Manisa, Turkey. Her driver, Mehmet Ensar Ozden, also died in the crash.

Per the outlet, law enforcement and first responders were dispatched to the site of the collision. Upon their arrival, the medical team determined that both Özmen and Ozden had died.

An investigation into the cause of the car crash is underway.

Özmen built a large fanbase onTikTokandInstagram, amassing around 2,000 followers across social media platforms. According to Turk CNN, her online following grew from her transparency about the challenges she faced during childhood.

While using her platform to courageously open up about her own experiences, she also offered support to others who were dealing with similar situations.
