Tori Spelling Didn't Speak to Luke Perry 'for Months' After Getting Into an 'Awful' Brawl with Her Ex: 'I Was Pissed'

On the latest episode of herMisspellingpodcast, the 51-year-old actress recalled how she didn’t speak to herBeverly Hills, 90210costar — whodied at age 52 in 2019after suffering a stroke — for months after a fight between him and her then-boyfriend Nick Savalas, who she dated from 1992 to 1995.

“There was an infamous fight that happened at one of the Christmas Eve parties between when I had the bad boyfriend,” she said.

When asked what caused the altercation, she claimed, “It was the way he treated me. It was just like… everyone had had enough, and Luke was truly like a big brother to me when I was young.”

The former reality star recalled what sparked the disagreement between the two at the holiday party, alleging, “I came in with Nick. … Luke couldn’t hide [his dislike]. When Nick would say hi, he would look away and walk away.”

“I don’t know what exactly happened, but I think Nick approached Luke to be like, ‘What’s up?'” she continued to claim. “I don’t know what happened next. … In all fairness, Nick instigated it. But Luke was like, ‘I love you so much, I can’t take this anymore.'”

Spelling remembered howJason Priestleystepped in to break up the fight — but she was left “crying” and asking Savalas to stay at the party.

In the aftermath of the argument, she explained, “Luke and I didn’t talk for months on set… because I was pissed. I was upset.”

However, she soon realized that her costar was “right,” adding, “He was just trying to protect me and save me from this.”

Savalas did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment.

In the post, she wrote that her former castmate “[w]ent to brawl literally for me when I was in a verbally abusive relationship and sat and talked me thru the most insecure moments of a teen angst girls life.”

She further detailed the experience on theWhine Downpodcast, reflecting on Perry’s “protective” nature and how he once got into a fight with a boyfriend who had allegedly been verbally abusive to her.

“I was in a verbally abusive relationship when I was 19,” Spelling recalled toWhine DownhostJana Kramer. “Yeah, Luke hated him and was very protective. At my parents' Christmas Eve party one year, he was there and saw this ex-boyfriend, and they got into it.”

While Spelling now understands why Perry confronted the ex, she said she was “mad” at the actor at the time and the pair “didn’t talk for a while,” despite working together on90210.

“I was 19, so I was mad at him instead of realizing, in hindsight, that this guy loved me and was like, ‘I don’t care. I’m gonna go to bat for her,’ " Spelling said of Perry. “He was a great friend.”
