PEOPLE confirmed the actor, who played werewolfJacob Blackin the belovedTwilightfilm series, will now chase the animals that made him famous in the upcoming series,Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter.
Tornante — the independent studio behind series likeBoJack HorsemanandUndone —is producing the series, which is currently in development with Amazon MGM Studios. Daisy Gardner is the creator and showrunner.Varietywas first to report the news.
While a release date was not announced, a loglineteases the show as one that gives a look at what Lautner has been doing since he “vanished” from the spotlight afterTwilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 2 wasreleased in 2012.

The logline explains that Lautner will be “playing himself” and helping “a secret society of werewolf trackers who need his unique expertise. "

Lautner shared on his Instagram Stories that the series has “been in the works for the last year.”
His wife,Tay Lautner, alsocelebrated the announcement on her Instagram page, writing, “My love, where to even begin. Words cannot express the excitement I have for you. Watching you along this journey of growth and healing these past seven years has truly been such a gift.” (Her husband hasbeen vocal about the body image issues that he went throughwhile filming the franchise.)

Tay, who co-hostsThe Squeezepodcast with her husband, said she was excited to watch him act again and noted that the show “has a deep meaning” and the parallels it has to his life are “truly remarkable.”
