Heavyweight boxerTyson Furyis hanging up his gloves — again.
Fury, 36, announced on Monday, Jan. 13 that he is once again done with the world of boxing, via a video on Instagram.
“Hi everybody, I am going to make this short and sweet. I would like to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been a blast, I’ve loved every single minute of it. And I am going to end with this: Dirk Turpin wore a mask,” Fury said to his followers in a video recorded from his car.
Furywas next scheduled to fightrival Anthony Joshua this summer.

Fury’s decision comes just after he lost to Ukrainian boxerOleksandr Usykin their world heavyweight championship rematch on Dec. 22 in Saudi Arabia.

In preparation for that match, Fury revealed that he cut off all contact with his wife, Paris Fury, and their seven children for three months.
“I’ve been away from my wife and kids for three months. I’ve not spoken to Paris at all in three months,” Fury told Dev Sahniin an interviewprior to the fight. “I’ve sacrificed a lot.”

The couple, who were the subject of the Netflix docuseriesAt Home With the Furys,are parents to three daughters (Venezuela, 15; Valencia, 7; and Athena, 3) and four sons (Prince John James, 13; Prince Tyson, 8; Prince Adonis Amaziah, 5; anda boy, 1, whose name they have not shared publicly).

In a later press conference following the fight, Fury said “I feel like I won both fights. I know I had to knock him out but it’s boxing and this happens. There is no doubt in my mind I won this fight … I’m not going to cry over spilled milk, it’s over now."
Fury previously announced his retirement back in April 2022.
