A college basketball game erupted into chaos when fans started fighting in the stands.

With just a minute left during the Tuesday, Jan. 28 basketball game between Saint Louis University and Virginia Commonwealth University, a brawl broke out between fans — delaying the game for a full seven minutes, theNew York Postreported.

Currently, there is no word on what caused the melee to occur, but it began in the arena stairwell in a section close to the floor of the court, the outlet said.

Footage of the altercationquickly made the rounds on social media, as multiple views and angles of the fight were shared — although the footage still was unable to show what initially started the incident.

In a press conference after the game, Schertz said “Our guys were feeding off the energy of the home crowd. They were into it. They lifted us at times, when we were tired. Students were awesome,” he said, according toCNN. “We don’t get through this game without them.”

Saint Louis is now in second place in the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10), along with VCU. Both teams trail behind George Mason University, the outlet reported.
