He was named a person of interest in her disappearance on Sept. 15, 2021 — after returning home alone in Petito’s van on Sept. 1, 2021, without her.
In October 2021, Florida authoritiesfound Laundrie’s remainsin Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, where they’d been looking for the 23-year-old for more than a month. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
In an exclusive trailer, shown below, the young couple is shown in happier moments, before their once-in-a-lifetime trip turned deadly and long-held secrets were revealed.
But the world would soon come to learn the couple was having serious problems. The video shows the now infamous clip of a Moab, Utah, police officer reporting a domestic dispute onbodycam footagepolice later released to the public.
“I’d like to report a domestic dispute,” the officer says. “Gentleman was slapping the girl."
