Vanderpump Rules' James Kennedy Will Not Face Criminal Charges After His Arrest on Suspicion of Domestic Violence

James Kennedywill not be prosecuted afterhis arreston suspicion of domestic violence last month.

On Wednesday, Jan. 22, theVanderpump Rulesalum’s lawyer Scott Leemon confirmed that the Burbank City Attorney’s Office would not be filing charges against him in relation to his Dec. 2024 arrest.

In a press release shared with PEOPLE, Leemon thanked the attorney’s office for “conducting a thorough and professional review of the matter involving my client, James Kennedy.”

“Their diligent investigation confirmed what we have maintained from the beginning – there were no grounds for any charges to be filed against Mr. Kennedy,” he continued. “James is grateful to have this matter behind him and is looking forward to continuing tofocus on his sobrietyandhis DJ career.”

On Dec. 10, Kennedywas arrestedafter the Burbank Police Department was called to his Los Angeles home “regarding an argument between a man and a woman,” a police spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE at the time.

At the time, TMZ, citing a law enforcement source, reported that a witness reportedly saw the Bravolebrity get physical with the unnamed woman, though authorities did not see any injuries when they arrived on the scene. He was eventually released on $20,000 bail.

A rep for Kennedy did not reply to PEOPLE’s request for comment at the time.

It was unclear if the unnamed woman was Kennedy’s girlfriend,Ally Lewber, when the news broke. The pair, who have been dating since January 2022, had been together earlier that night atKathy Hilton’s annual holiday party.

While she did not confirm her involvement in the incident, Lewber thanked her fans for their support shortly after Kennedy’s arrest in a statement shared to herInstagram Stories.

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and support and for checking in on me,” she wrote. “I’m okay and taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy during this time.”
