Gout, largely touted as the nextUsain Bolt, clocked in at 10.04 seconds during the heats at the All-Schools Athletics Championships in Queensland.

The sprint was the fourth-fastest time of a sprinter of any age, according toCNN.

Unfortunately, Gout’s sprint won’t count in official records due to being wind-assisted (which happens when a tailwind exceeds a velocity of 2.0 meters per second, perNCAA.com), CNN reported.

After coming in with the fourth-fastest time in the heats, Gout raced again on Friday, running the final in 10.17 — the sixth-fastest time for a sprinter under 18 years old — beating his previous personal record of 10.29 seconds.

Gout toldAthletics Australiaafter the race that he’s been “chasing this national record for a while now.”

“In the heat, I thought I got it, but it was a crazy tailwind, so I just did the same thing and got the job done.”

The previous Australian under 18 years old to hold the record was Sebastian Sultana with 10.27.
