A young woman is developing a wardrobe that sitcom bingers and cinephiles with an affinity for the ’90s will for sure envy.
Raíssa runs an Instagram page, @NostalgiaChick, dedicated to ’90s and ’00s nostalgia content. It was in doing so that she learned about the world of screen-accurate shopping.
“I started almost five years ago. I ended up meeting people online because of the page and one of those people is the owner of a store calledCinema Spells. She sells screen-accurate clothing, accessories and household items,” Raíssa tells PEOPLE. “She first started selling on eBay and was working on opening her own online store when she contacted me.”

As she delved further into the screen-accurate item world, she acquired more pieces and even started sourcing some favorites herself.
“Once I got my first few pieces, I found so many stores that do this. I follow a bunch and am always looking at what they’re posting. I also started sourcing things myself. It’s a lot of research to discover actual brands,” she says. “Sometimes you can find things that are similar but not an exact match. You just have to keep looking until you find the piece and hopefully at a good price.”
Her collection has some pieces she got just because, but Raíssa says, “When I look for stuff, I look for stuff that I would actually wear. I did get some things gifted to me that aren’t really my style, but they’re still part of my collection and I like having them. As far as sourcing for myself, I do it with theintention of wearing it.”
Raíssa has a few pieces that stick out among her favorites.
“I would say there’s one T-shirt that’s like a fictional band T-shirt that Marissa Cooper wears inThe O.C. I wear it on a regular basis. There’s also this denim vest I got fromFriends. Rachel Green wears it, and then Topanga wears the same one from the same brand inBoy Meets World,” she says.
“A third favorite is my most recent favorite, a red flannel that Clark Kent wears inSmallvilleand Joey wears inFriends. I love when we have parallels where people from different shows wear the same stuff.”

She’s also enjoying opening screen-accurate shopping up to others who aren’t familiar with the process.
“It’s fun for me and it’s fun when people recognize it on this street sometimes,” she adds. “I get so happy that someone recognizes it and it doesn’t even have like a big logo calling it out.”
