Dave Grohland his wife,Jordyn Blum, have been together for over 20 years.

Since their nuptials, the former Nirvana drummer and Blum have welcomed three daughters: Violet, born in 2006; Harper, born in 2009; and Ophelia, born in 2014. In September 2024, Grohl revealed on Instagram that he’d welcomed afourth child, a girl, “born outside of my marriage.”

He wrote in a statement, “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

Blum has remained incredibly private throughout her relationship with Grohl, and little is known about the rock star’s wife. However, the musician has occasionally opened up about his family in interviews. In 2007, Grohl toldThe Guardian, “[My wife] Jordyn and [daughter] Violet are anchors that keep me from completely disappearing.”

Long before she met Grohl, Blum worked as a model, appearing on the cover of’Teenand shooting makeup campaigns. One particular issue of’Teenrevealed that Blum was discovered in a supermarket when she was 12 years old.

Grohl and the former model initially metat the Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar in 2001, however, their relationship didn’t get off to the best start. In a 2007interview withELLE, the rock star said, “When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates and I decided that I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling.”

However, Grohl had a change of heart, revealing, “After three months, I had a revelation and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again.’ "

In 2006, Grohl revealed that Blum had inspired the song “Burn Away,” tellingThe A.V. Club, “I was in love with my future wife and had some romantic … prom ballad.”

These days, Violet is a singer and occasionallyperforms with her father. At the 2023 Glastonbury Festival in June 2023, Grohl introduced Violet as his “favorite singer in the world” before she joined him on stage to sing “Show Me How.”

In April 2014, the Grohls announced that theirthird childwas on the way, after the musician was inducted into theRock and Roll Hall of Fame. The couple’s youngest daughter,Ophelia Saint Grohl, was bornon Aug. 1, 2014.

During an August 2018appearance onJimmy Kimmel Live, Grohl revealed that Blum had ended up being rushed to the hospital while Grohl was standing in for Kimmel on an earlier episode.

“It’s true,” Grohl told the talk show host. “I got a text from her, ‘I don’t really feel so good.’ Then I walk offstage after it was done and she’s like, ‘I’m on my way to the hospital to get my appendix out.’ "

Blum made a rare public appearance with Grohl and their daughters for the 2023Grammy Awards, where the familyposed for photos together on the red carpet.

Blum wore a short, black sequined dress while Grohl sported an all-black ensemble. Meanwhile, the couple’s eldest daughter Violet rocked a blazer dress and knee-high boots; Harper donned a floral dress with lug sole boots; and Ophelia wore a floaty ombré dress that she accessorized with a gold purse.

The couple were spotted attending London’sWimbledontennis tournament in July 2024. Blum and Grohl sat in the coveted Royal Box seats alongside several celebrities, includingDavid Beckham.

Grohl cheated on Blum

In September 2024, shortly after the couple were seen together at Wimbledon, Grohl revealed that he’d been unfaithful to Blum andwelcomed a daughter with another woman.

Despite Grohl’s infidelity, the couple decided to spend the holidays together with their daughters. In December 2024, a source told PEOPLE, “They are allspending Christmas as a family.”

The news came after a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Grohl was “no longerworking with a divorce attorney.”

“Dave’s been prioritizing his family,” the source said in November 2024. “He knows he messed up. It’s one of those situations where you don’t realize what you have until you’re about to lose it. He doesn’t want to lose his family.”
