George Russell’s heart races for his girlfriend,Carmen Montero Mundt.

“Five years with the most wonderful person I could ever ask for,” Mundt wrote onInstagramin honor of their anniversary in February 2025. “Forever proud of who you are and what you do.”

Russell, born in England in 1998, is one of the best young Formula 1 drivers around, with numerous podium finishes in his career so far. He began karting when he was 7 years old, and went on to become the MSA British champion and British Open champion. His first F1 season was in 2019 when he drove for Williams.

Mundt travels all over the world to watch Russell race for Mercedes. Most recently, she was spotted at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where her beau finished fifth.

Mundt was born in Spain in 1998 but lives in the United Kingdom.

In a Q&A she did onInstagram, she told her followers that she moved countries at the age of 18.

She went to the University of Westminster

Mundt attended the University of Westminster in London between 2018 and 2021, and she holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and finance, according to herLinkedInprofile.

She also has a diploma in asset allocation and risk management from the University of Geneva.

She met Russell in London

As part of a Q&A session she did on Instagram, Mundt shared that she met Russell in London through a mutual friend. The driver grew up in Wisbech, but moved to the city of Milton Keynes, 50 miles away from London, when he was 18, perBuckinghamshireLive.

They’ve been with each other since 2020 — Mundt first posted a photo of herself with Russell onInstagramin September of that year.

She works in investor relations

According to Mundt’s LinkedIn profile, she worked as an investor relations associate at Ruffer LLP in London from June 2022 to October 2023 following a front-office internship at the company between September and December of 2021.

Mundt previously held the role of associate consultant at Delta Capita for three months between January and March 2022.

“I always wanted to work in finance,” she explained on her Instagram Story. “My family struggled financially during the global crisis and that determined what I wanted to do from a very young age.”

At the end of 2023, Mundt announced onInstagramthat she was going to go back to school in the new year.

She goes to public events with Russell

When they aren’t working, the couple often go out together. About a year after they started dating, in September 2021, Russell and Mundt attended the premiere of theJames BondmovieNo Time To Dieat the Royal Albert Hall in London.

A few years later, in April 2023, they were pictured watchingNovak Djokovicplay at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters in Monaco. The pair joined the cheering crowd, both wearing sunglasses.

Mundt supports her boyfriend’s career on social media and often goes to watch him race.

When one of her Instagram followers asked her during a Q&A if it’s hard to balance work and supporting her boyfriend, she said watching Russell compete “takes my head away from work and I enjoy the sport and spending time with him."

“There’s nothing I enjoy more than G’s success," she added.

Russell has called her “incredibly supportive”

In an interview withSquare Milefrom April 2023, Russell opened up about his struggles as a young Formula 1 driver. When asked how he cares for his mental health, Russell described Mundt as “incredibly supportive.”

“Last year, for the first time, I experienced some fans booing me on a driver’s parade. I’d never experienced that before," Russell said. He added that Mundt and others help him in these moments. “I talk with the people who I trust and love the most and they offer a huge hand,” Russell said.
