A woman is sparking an online debate after saying she ended a virtual job interview early because the interviewer was “very rude and dismissive.“In a post onReddit’s “Am I Overreacting,” the woman explained that her virtual interview was with an employee in a high-ranking role at the company, describing him as “the boss of the position I was applying for.” But from the start, she said that the interviewer seemed “quite dismissive” of her her work history.

As the interview continued, the woman said he “kept saying that he didn’t understand what I was saying” and that things reached a tipping point when he said she had “no understanding of the theory and principles of the role.”

“I’m in project management,” the woman added, noting that she’s worked in that field for 14 years.

Finally, after enduring several interruptions and dismissive remarks, the woman decided to cut the interview short.

“I ended the interview 30 minutes in, saying that I’m not a good fit and to drop me out,” she explained. “I was quite cutting, because at this point I was pissed off.”

As she ended the video call, the interviewer attempted to speak, but she quickly shut it down, telling him that she didn’t want to continue.

As another commenter summed things up, “sounds like you had a lucky escape.”
