The family of a woman who was seriously injured in themedical jet plane crashin Philadelphia is speaking out about her condition.
“They never made it to Macy’s,” Shantelle Fletcher, Dominique’s cousin, told the station. “On their way there, that’s when the plane had crashed and their vehicle was near the blast area.”
According to her cousin, Dominique is in a medically induced coma, and she received burns to 70% of her body.
“She’s responding well to medication,” Shantelle said. She noted that her cousin was scheduled to have surgery on Sunday, Feb. 2.
Six people on board the plane and another person on the ground died in the crash, officials have said. Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker said in a press conference on Monday, Feb. 3, that the number of injured rose from 22 to 24, with four still hospitalized and two in critical condition.

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance has identified the victims as Valentina Guzman Murillo and her mother Lizeth Murillo Ozuna, who were on their way home to Mexico following Valentina’s treatment for a complication of spina bifida at Shriners Children’s Philadelphia.

Montoya was the pilot and Juárez was the co-pilot, Mexico newspaperMilenioreported, citing Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A seventh victim who was inside a vehicle near the crash has not been identified, the mayor said Sunday.
Multiple homes and vehicles caught fire when the plane hit the ground.
