The 29-year-old woman, who has been caring for her sister’s children for years, recently reached a breaking point and decided to set some boundaries with her sister.

“What started as the occasional evening has turned into me watching the kids 3-4 times a week, sometimes for entire weekends,” she writes.

The woman explains that her sister, whom she calls Lily in the post, has become so comfortable with the arrangement that she sometimes doesn’t even ask anymore. “She just tells me, ‘You’re free Friday night, right?’ or ‘I’m dropping the kids off in an hour,' " the poster shares.

She did note that Lily is a single mother with a demanding job. And while the 29-year-old has always been happy to help, she feels her own life and responsibilities are being overlooked. The situation came to a head recently when Lily asked her sister for child care so she could go on a trip with her friends. When she declined due to having prior commitment, Lily accused her of being selfish.
